What replying to an email conversation was like
Replying to email conversation
Before, the composing field at the bottom didn’t feel like it belonged to the rest of the page. After, the redesign made it feel more lightweight.
When the expanded version takes over the entire page, users can’t see the email content and write at the same time. This was a huge issue.
Composing a new email
Before, it would take you to a document-like page. This felt too heavy and disconnected from our product. After, we re-used the same composer component in a larger format.
Forwarding
Before, our users had no way to visualize the content of what they’re forwarding. After, they were able to have visibility.
How did I work with engineers and how did we measure success?
I was lucky to work with really talented front end devs where we didn’t need to spend a ton of time adjusting visual or interaction details after implementation. I would share my explorations and prototypes with them and once we decided on a direction, it was time to implement.
I like to check in frequently with engineers I’m working with to answer any detailed questions.
